egina Pedigo is a puppeteer at the South Central Kentucky branch Kids on the Block (KOTB). The puppets featured in KOTB have backstories that are used to teach students about social issues. Some of the puppets are bullied, have cancer, depression, diabetes, autism, a deceased family member or are victims of abuse. Outside of puppeteering, Pedigo is very active in her church and her family life but wants to be involved at KOTB for a long time. Pedigo says she loves the outreach it has helping children face these issues. “We’ve gotten so many kids coming up to us and saying, ‘Well this is what happened to me.’ And so we know that help is on the way for those kids and they’re not going to have to live with that anymore.”
